Lisa V. Wesley

Wachey! My name is Lisa V. Wesley and am a member of Attawapiskat First
Nation.  My office is located at the Elm Street address in Timmins, ON.  In this role, I will be providing one-on-one traditional counselling services to all 7 Mushkegowuk Territory
Communities. 

I come with over 20 years in the helping field with specific focus on Indigenous families and children.  My current focus is trauma-informed care and counselling services. I also enjoy facilitating workshops and information sessions on numerous topics, which can be requested by the communities. My training with Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapist and personal healing has allowed me to provided effective indigenous focusing therapy services.

I enjoy spending quality time with my grandson who brings so much joy to my life. I am extremely honoured to be working with Mushkegowuk OMA as my family continues to be in the helping roles within our communities. I look forward to providing support and assistance to our community members. 

Intergeneration Trauma and complex trauma have affected our communities so deeply and with guidance and support we can heal together to thrive in balance with kindness and empathy.  Life was never promised to be easy but so worth the journey.
